Where to Buy the Best Soundproof Cubicles for Offices: Panels or Pods
A coworker’s phone call carries over your cubicle wall every afternoon, so you’re searching for where to buy the best soundproof cubicles for offices.
The catch is the word soundproof, because Versare, a maker of cubicle panels, says its own partition is not a soundproof cubicle.
This guide splits open panel cubicles from enclosed pods and compares each seller’s own prices, specs and return rules as read on 3 October 2026.
You’ll see what each type absorbs or blocks, what the US government’s office acoustics guide says about cubicle walls, and what to ask before you pay.
Start with the type, because the right seller depends on whether you need a divider or a door.
Where to Buy the Best Soundproof Cubicles for Offices?
That depends on whether you mean a divider or an enclosed pod, because the sellers read for this guide fall into those two groups and charge very different amounts. Versare and Office Chairs USA list panels from $178.49 and $158, pods start at $4,200 at Uncaged Ergonomics, $5,658 at Soundbox Store and $6,395 at PrivacyPod, and Framery sells only by quote.
| Type | What the sellers publish | Price on the pages read | Sellers read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Panel cubicle | NRC up to 0.25, or 0.50 with an acoustic option, and a note that it isn’t soundproof | From $178.49, or $2,799.99 for a kit with a door | Versare |
| Desk or cubicle add-on panel | No figure for Obex; NRC 0.85 claimed for ReFocus, with no report shown | From $158 for Obex | Office Chairs USA, Amazon |
| Enclosed pod | A speech level reduction of about 30 dB under ISO 23351-1, or a measured report | $4,200 for one seat to $15,555 for six | PrivacyPod, Uncaged Ergonomics, Soundbox Store, Framery, Studiobricks |
Uplift Desk returned an error to the in-app browser and Skutchi’s category page was blocked, so neither was read and neither was worked around.
Is Any Open Cubicle Really Soundproof?
That price gap exists because an open cubicle isn’t soundproof, and the sellers say so themselves. Versare says its Hush Panel is not a fully enclosed or soundproof cubicle and gives only light sound absorption that can soften reflected office noise (Versare).

The US General Services Administration agrees in its office acoustics guide, which lists high cubicle partitions as a myth: they block a standing person’s line of sight but add only small amounts of acoustical shielding (GSA).
It adds that visual privacy can make people talk louder, so a taller wall may bring more disruption, not less. GSA also cites a survey of about 24,000 workers with no difference in satisfaction between high and low partitions.
GSA defines normal speech privacy as a Privacy Index of 80, where about one word in five can still be understood, and notes that most commercial office buildings provide less than that.

Those findings explain what panel pages list, which is absorption rather than blocking. Versare’s 2-inch honeycomb panels list an NRC of up to 0.25 for fabric and up to 0.50 with its acoustic control option, and our explainer on what an NRC rating means covers how that number is built.
GSA recommends an NRC of 0.7 in the partition material in front of a seated worker, well above Versare’s fabric panel and above its best option. The ReFocus clamp-on divider on Amazon claims 0.85, and Obex’s 3/8 inch PET panel gives no figure.
None of the pages read links an acoustic test report for those figures, and Versare’s downloads hold fabric, brochure and assembly files instead, so ask for a report that names the mounting before you rely on a number.
Absorption and blocking do different jobs, because panels soften reflections inside the room while an enclosure is what stops speech reaching the next desk.
What Does an Enclosed Pod Add?
That is why pod sellers publish a different kind of number. Framery says its pods give a 30 dB speech level reduction and Class A under ISO 23351-1, PrivacyPod and Soundbox Store cite the same standard, and Uncaged Ergonomics says only that its pod reduces speech transfer and is not perfectly soundproof (Framery).

ISO 23351-1:2020 is a laboratory method that compares furniture enclosures by how much they reduce the speech level of the person inside, measured as sound power with and without the product from 125 to 8,000 Hz and reported as one A-weighted number (iTeh Standards).
The standard says it is not intended for single workstation components such as a screen, a table or a wall absorber, so cubicle panels are rated another way.
Studiobricks reports a different measure. Its measurement PDF lists field readings from March 2018 that rate a double wall at 34 dB from outside to inside and 46 dB from inside to outside, and a triple wall at 35 and 47 (Studiobricks).
Those aren’t a head-to-head score, because one is a lab speech reduction and the other a field level difference between rooms. The direction matters too, since the 45 dB headline on Studiobricks’ Hola page sits close to the inside-to-outside readings, not the outside-to-inside ones.
Studiobricks’ own FAQ adds that double-walled booths are not 100 percent soundproof, because a fully soundproof cabin would need walls too bulky for office use (Studiobricks).
How Do Pod Numbers Compare With Office Wall Standards?
Those pod figures use a different yardstick from the wall ratings in the government guide. GSA asks for walls rated at least STC 40 between private offices that need normal speech privacy, STC 45 where speech must be confidential, and STC 53 to isolate video conference and training rooms (GSA).
Those targets describe the walls between rooms, so a pod’s speech level reduction or a booth’s field level difference can’t be set against them directly. They do show what a confidential room asks for, which is why a pod’s decibel figure is best used to compare pods with each other.
GSA also warns that a closed door doesn’t make a conversation private unless construction stops sound leaking around doors, through walls, through the ceiling plenum and through ducting. Studiobricks says its Focus booths perform best because of their special sound control door, which fits that warning.
GSA’s design table also lists a phone booth, a small room for making private calls and using speakerphone, as a design consideration, which is the job these pods are sold for.
Where Do You Buy Panel Cubicles?
Those limits shape what a panel seller can honestly offer, and four sellers turned up in the searches. Versare sells its Hush Panel in widths from 2 to 6 feet and heights of 4 or 6 feet, with tool-free assembly and a 2-year limited warranty, and its page showed panels from $178.49 against a list of $259.99.
A pre-configured Hush Panel Cubicle Kit With Door started at $2,799.99 in 6 by 8 by 6 and 6 by 8 by 8 foot sizes.
| Seller | What it sells | Starting price | Ships | Returns |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Versare | Hush Panel partitions and kits | From $178.49 | 1 to 3 business days on the product page, 1 to 15 in its policy | 20% fee plus shipping on undamaged returns |
| Office Chairs USA | Obex clamp-on PET panels, 3/8 inch thick | $158 | 3 to 5 business days, free shipping | Not returnable |
| Quill | 358 cubicle and privacy-panel products with a Sound Absorbing filter | $3,058.99 for a VersaDesk WorkNest 2-person workstation | Heavy item fee on large items | Not read |
| Amazon, Stand Up Desk Store | ReFocus clamp-on divider, 47.25 by 23.6 inches | Not shown here | Through Amazon | Amazon’s 30-day text covers many items |
Versare’s return page says most items are custom built, so an undamaged return costs a 20 percent fee on top of shipping, and changing or cancelling an order already in fulfillment costs the same 20 percent (Versare).
Office Chairs USA states that the Obex panels cannot be returned and tells buyers to measure twice, with brackets for desks about 3/4 to 2 inches thick and cubicle walls 1.5 to 3.75 inches thick (Office Chairs USA). The page quotes slightly different thickness ranges in two places, so measure your own.
Versare’s panels are nominally 2 to 6 feet wide and 4 or 6 feet high, but the actual widths are 26-1/4, 34, 45-3/4, 60 and 72 inches and the actual heights 45-3/4 and 72 inches, so plan from the actual sizes.
Quill, the office supplier, lists 358 cubicle and privacy-panel products on 3 October, including a Versare freestanding partition 72 inches high and 135 inches wide at $1,818.59 and a Regency 4-person in-line workstation 63 inches high at $3,800.99 (Quill).
Local dealers also sell new and refurbished partitions: ROSI Office Systems in Houston says it sells new partitions plus a renovated line called REcube, and any dealer should be able to give you the same test reports. If you only want wall panels rather than cubicle walls, our guide to acoustic panel sellers compared by lead time and returns covers the specialist makers.
Where Do You Buy Office Pods?
Those return fees grow with pods, which ship by freight and cost thousands. PrivacyPod and Uncaged Ergonomics list US dollar prices, Soundbox Store lists “from” prices and confirms each order by quotation, Framery works through dealers, and Studiobricks showed no price on the pages read.
| Seller | Sizes and prices on its page | Delivery and warranty | Acoustic claim |
|---|---|---|---|
| PrivacyPod | 1 seat $6,395, 2 seats $9,495, 4 seats $12,495, 6 seats $14,995 | Free shipping, quick-ship in 1 to 2 weeks, 3-year warranty | ISO 23351-1 Class A |
| Uncaged Ergonomics | Small (1 person) $4,200 to $4,500 and marked backordered, Working (1 person) $6,000, Medium (2 people) $8,000, Large $10,000, whose page says up to four people in one place and up to six in another | Free curbside freight, 5-year frame and 2-year electrical warranty | Reduces speech transfer, not perfectly soundproof |
| Soundbox Store | Folio Phone Booth from $5,658, Quell Office Pod Solo from $7,602 without furniture, six-seat Quell Meeting Booth from $15,555, each beside a crossed-out price about twice as high | As little as 2 weeks on the collection page, but delivery, installation and lead time are confirmed by quotation; sold with or without furniture | Cites ISO 23351-1; its pod guide says 30 to 35 dB |
| Framery | Quote through an authorized dealer | Professional installation, 5-year warranty on smart pods | 30 dB speech level reduction, Class A |
| Studiobricks | Hola phone booth 106 by 106 by 222 centimeters, no price shown | Wheels, two silent fans | Report: 34 to 47 dB by direction |
| Quill | FlexiSpot NeoPod Lift Series booth, $5,999.99 | Heavy item fee | Sold as sound absorbing, no standard named on the listing |
Framery’s how-to-buy page describes three steps: request a quote, talk to its sales team, then order from the authorized reseller who quotes price, delivery, installation and customization (Framery).
Uncaged Ergonomics says its walls combine steel facing, 60 millimeter insulation and a polyester-fiber board, and it lists integrated fans, lighting, two AC outlets and four USB ports (Uncaged Ergonomics). Its Small pod includes a compact wall-mounted table, while the Working, Medium and Large pods ship without built-in furniture.
Studiobricks’ Hola includes a high table, two three-speed silent fans and plugs for several countries including the US, while Soundbox Store sells its pods with or without furniture, so compare what’s inside as well as the sticker price.
How Much Floor Does a Pod Need?
Those inclusions matter less than the footprint, and the pages give enough numbers to plan one. Uncaged Ergonomics lists four sizes from 39.4 by 39.4 inches up to 86.6 by 86.6 inches, all 90.6 inches tall, with assembled weights from about 551 to 1,543 pounds.

Studiobricks’ Hola booth measures 106 by 106 by 222 centimeters outside, about 41.7 by 41.7 by 87.4 inches, but only 90 by 90 centimeters inside, so its 8 centimeter walls cost you 16 centimeters in each direction.
Both sellers also state assembly clearances: Studiobricks asks for 242 centimeters of ceiling height for the Hola, and Uncaged Ergonomics asks for about 12 inches above the finished 90.6 inch pod.
Measure the room, the doorway and the freight route, because Uncaged Ergonomics says its crates may not pass standard interior doors and its own door opening is about 33.8 inches wide.
What Do Delivery and Returns Cost?
Those clearances point to the costs that sellers’ headlines skip. Versare’s freight rules add numbers: curbside delivery costs $100 more, inside delivery $189 more, and a failed curbside drop adds a $125 re-delivery fee plus a $75 liftgate fee (Versare).
Versare also says freight damage claims must be filed within 2 business days, that you can refuse a visibly damaged delivery for a free replacement, and that the street of access must be at least 10 feet wide with 14 feet of overhead clearance.
Pod sellers publish return rules too, and the fees run higher than Versare’s 20 percent.
| Seller | Return window | What a return costs |
|---|---|---|
| PrivacyPod | 60 days from delivery, unused and uninstalled, in the original crate | A 50% restocking fee, plus return freight and carrier extras |
| Soundbox Store | 30 days from delivery, unpacked and unused | Return shipping, and a 15 to 50 percent restocking fee if the goods come back in unacceptable condition |
| Uncaged Ergonomics | 30 days from delivery, “no questions asked” | Return shipping, with a partial refund if the pod is damaged; the page doesn’t say whether pods differ |
| Framery | Not read, because it sells through dealers | Ask the dealer |
PrivacyPod also wants a return authorization number before anything ships back, and a damage report within 48 hours of delivery (PrivacyPod).
Framery and Uncaged Ergonomics both offer installation support, which matters for crates of 500 to 1,500 pounds, while Studiobricks says it can send an offer with 3D drawings that covers packaging, shipping and assembly.
Warranties vary as much as returns: Versare gives its panels 2 years, PrivacyPod 3 years, Framery 5 years on smart pods and Uncaged Ergonomics 5 years on the frame and 2 on the electrics, while the ReFocus listing states both 5 years and lifetime.
Do Pods Need Sprinklers or Fire Checks?
Those installation steps include a fire question that few pod pages answer. Studiobricks says its small booths on casters can be treated as movable furniture rather than building structures, that it can fit sprinklers where local rules require them, and that it does not provide or install sprinkler systems.
Soundbox Store’s footer lists EN 13501-1 reaction-to-fire testing of its pod materials by SGS, which classifies the materials and doesn’t answer the sprinkler question for your building.
Ask your building manager or fire officer before you order, because an enclosure can affect sprinkler coverage, and ask every seller for its fire test or sprinkler guidance in writing.
Can You Upgrade the Cubicle You Already Have?
Those fire and freight questions make a smaller fix worth a look, and add-on panels clamp to the desk or cubicle wall you already own. GSA’s guidance is to put absorption in front of the seated worker, which is where a clamp-on panel sits.
For a low-cost add-on through Amazon, the Stand Up Desk Store ReFocus panel is the best-documented listing that cleared this guide’s bar.

the Stand Up Desk Store ReFocus panel
Its listing claims an NRC of 0.85 for a panel 0.88 inches thick but shows no report, so ask the seller what mounting that figure came from. A panel on a desk edge adds absorption near your head, but it won’t stop a call from carrying over the top of a cubicle wall.
Our page on soundproofing a whole office covers the weak points around a room, and building a soundproof booth covers the do-it-yourself route if the pod prices are too high.
What Should You Ask a Seller Before You Pay?
Those two routes lead to the same checklist, and a good seller can answer all of it in writing. Ask for the test report behind any NRC or decibel figure and the standard it names, because a bare soundproof claim is marketing.
Ask which direction a decibel number applies to, whether the figure is for a lab or a field test, and what mounting or door was tested.
Ask for the lead time and the delivery type, the cost of liftgate or inside delivery, and who carries the crates, and for the return rule in writing, since undamaged returns can cost 20 percent at Versare and 50 percent at PrivacyPod, or be refused outright at Office Chairs USA.
For a pod, ask about ventilation, because Uncaged Ergonomics lists two integrated fans, Studiobricks lists two silent fans and Framery lists adaptive airflow, and a sealed box without airflow gets stuffy.
Which Option Fits Your Office?
Those questions sort the options by job, and the table matches each need to a seller read above.
| You need | Look at | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Visual separation and light absorption for a team | Versare Hush Panel | Tool-free panels in 2 to 6 foot widths, but the maker says it isn’t soundproof |
| A cheap add-on for existing desks | Obex via Office Chairs USA, or the ReFocus panel | Clamp-on PET panels, with Obex non-returnable |
| Private calls with a door | PrivacyPod or Uncaged Ergonomics | US prices from $4,200, freight delivery, no quote needed |
| A pod with a published standard | Framery, PrivacyPod or Soundbox Store | Each names ISO 23351-1, though Framery sells only by quote and Soundbox Store confirms orders by quotation |
| A pod with a measurement report | Studiobricks | Its PDF lists 34 to 47 dB by direction and wall type |
The Bottom Line
Buy panels from Versare or Office Chairs USA if you want separation and light absorption, and treat the word soundproof on any open cubicle as a stretch.
Buy a pod from PrivacyPod, Uncaged Ergonomics, Soundbox Store or Framery if you need calls to stay private, and ask for the standard behind the decibel number before you pay.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are office cubicles soundproof?
No. Versare says its Hush Panel is not a fully enclosed or soundproof cubicle, and GSA lists high cubicle partitions as a myth because speech travels over them.
How much does a soundproof office pod cost?
On 3 October 2026 PrivacyPod listed one-seat pods from $6,395 and six-seat pods at $14,995, and Uncaged Ergonomics showed $4,200 for its smallest pod and $10,000 for its largest. Framery prices only by quote, and Soundbox Store listed pods from $5,658 beside a crossed-out $11,316.
Do taller cubicle walls reduce noise?
Only a little. GSA says higher partitions block line of sight but add small amounts of acoustical shielding, and they may lead people to talk louder.
What’s the best brand for soundproof cubicle walls?
No cubicle-wall brand read here claims to be soundproof, and Versare’s Hush Panel is the best documented, with an NRC of up to 0.50 and a maker note that it isn’t soundproof. For private calls, Framery and PrivacyPod name ISO 23351-1 Class A for their pods, and Studiobricks publishes field measurements.
What NRC should cubicle panels have?
GSA recommends an NRC of 0.7 in the partition material in front of a seated worker. Versare’s panels list up to 0.25 for fabric and up to 0.50 with an acoustic option.
What does ISO 23351-1 measure?
It is a laboratory method that compares furniture enclosures by how much they reduce the speech level of the person inside. Framery pairs its Class A rating with a 30 dB reduction.
Can you return a cubicle panel?
Versare charges a 20 percent fee plus shipping on undamaged returns, and Office Chairs USA says Obex panels cannot be returned. Amazon’s return text covers many items for 30 days.
Can you return an office pod?
PrivacyPod takes returns for 60 days but keeps 50 percent of the price, Soundbox Store allows 30 days for unpacked pods, and Uncaged Ergonomics states a 30-day window. In each case the buyer pays the return shipping.
Do office pods have ventilation?
Uncaged Ergonomics lists two integrated fans, Studiobricks lists two silent fans, and Framery lists adaptive airflow. Check the fan details before you buy a sealed pod.
What is a Privacy Index?
GSA uses it to describe speech privacy: a Privacy Index of 80 is normal privacy, where about 20 percent of words can still be understood, and 95 is confidentiality. Most commercial office buildings provide less than 80.
What STC do office walls need?
GSA asks for at least STC 40 between private offices with normal speech privacy, STC 45 for confidential privacy and STC 53 for video conference rooms. Those are wall ratings, not pod ratings.
Where can you buy an office pod without asking for a quote?
PrivacyPod and Uncaged Ergonomics list prices on their pages, and Quill lists a FlexiSpot NeoPod booth at $5,999.99. Framery and Studiobricks work by inquiry, and Soundbox Store confirms delivery and installation by quotation.
How big is a soundproof office pod?
Uncaged Ergonomics lists footprints from 39.4 by 39.4 inches to 86.6 by 86.6 inches, and Studiobricks’ Hola booth is about 41.7 by 41.7 inches outside. Plan for ceiling height and door width as well as floor space.
